According to the Kabbalah (the hidden secrets of the Torah) every month of the year corresponds to a tribe of Israel and a Hebrew letter as well as many other categories of twelve that appear throughout the Torah. This particular painting (which is one of a series called "The Twelve Dimensions of Israel") relates to the month of Sivan (June), the tribe of Zevulun and the letter zayin.

During the month of Sivan the Torah was given which is a guide of Divine wisdom for moving through life. The tribe of Zevulun was blessed with "going out and coming in" to engage in commerce on the sea which is part of his territorial inheritance. The graceful letter(s) of zayin appears to be dancing on this seascape as it reflects and connects celestial rhythms with the rhythms of the sea. Thus this dimension of Israel illustrates a special way of connecting with G-d through the dance of life in which every movement is an extension of deep cosmic pulsations.

Bringing this consciousness into our every movement reveals the grace of being alive. This meditation is a lifetime pursuit.
